| The
Vendetta
The film is more popular in theme to the recent Arthouse drama of
The Veranda.
A young man (ALDO FORMAZZONI)
has been given the task, from an early age to avenge his family feud
of 100 years.
His Great Great Uncle was involved
in a jewellery theft, but after giving himself up, was shot by a policeman.
The Vendetta is a balance between the family of the policeman and the
Formazzoni. Aldo has been brought up for this task but is recruited
by his Uncle Guido to be an assassin for the Mafia as that is what Zio
expects from him, but Aldo cannot do this.
And so strange notions of honour are discussed and traditions and caricatures
of the Italian immigrant... Where is the Italian 100 years on after
leaving Italy? Are these traditions and cooking what we remember?
While on the run, but still in search of the 'Innocent' descendant of
The Policeman, (JOHNNY TRIESTE), ALDO hijacks a young lady (MEGAN) and
a Bonnie and Clyde romance begins in car and moving from motel to road,
to playing chess, to picnics, to knives, to shooting dead the innocent
Johnny Trieste.
