Hello film people, now my bit of the shoot is over I can relax, just to say thanks to all concerned on the day for making it a good experience. The crew are great and very supportive not to mention patient in those awful moments when you open your mouth and your brain is elsewhere on the tenth take,I do have to say that delivering the lines to Lindsay when we were actually filming was much easier than delivering them to Marco (who was a Lindsay stand in )when we were rehearsing on a bench in the park in the town centre, hey ho thats it.......... and the Lasagne was great as well. At first i was afraid, i was petrified..... Hello world of S.B.C I'm Rob Lighting Camera on the film. I am always ascared of new technologies and then i go and lose passwords but i couldn't hold it any longer so here i am sacrificing my blogging virginity. Yesterday was the last of the first shoot and what a shoot it was!!! Very Very exiting, the actors and crew are wonderful and the spirit as Marco mentioned is amazing, this is so much fun!! We have had some early mornings, late nights and almost tropical rain storms but the rushes look great, i think this will be one hell of a film!!!! Well i am off to bed soon, i am a very tired boy and need to start energising for the next shoot. Hopefully my new tripod will have arrived from the States by then (thanks especially to our friend Mary in New York for helping to get it here). See y'all later Rob
The first shoot is over. I had some moments which specify exactly why I want to be nowhere else in the world, when the image is so beautiful and the atmosphere on set is so fine there is very little better. Also a couple of moments which weren't as fine but those are worked through. It is impossible not to have certain problems at such high stress situations, I'm sure this goes through all minds. It will be interesting to watch the rushes again and find out what needs doing. the worst problems seem to be a couple of over dubs but those should be quite simple ADR issues. Just like to commend everyone for an amazing job! The crew have been wonderful, professional, supportive and worked very hard, the cast have been elegant, beautiful, supportive and worked very hard. Buck obviously beats Lindsay for elegance. I keep telling her when she can get his walk we've got the next Audrey Hepburn! or better still Tilda Swinton... Tilda - Lindsay's only rival... :) Now to shiatsu Thursday, July 22, 2004
You're all down stairs... I feel sneaky! The first shoot ... rain argh!!!! so we went elsewhere and filmed and got a cracking scene after thinking Geez the rain, the van the sound ... oh MY! but it is fine and looks terrific.. then the day after what a beautiful scene although it rained on the last shot of the scene which was rather a traumatic addition to the shoot. It stopped for a few minutes andso the scene got shot. YES! then it down poured for the next scene which needed a down pour so We all got amazingly wet and the scne looking bloody amazing!!!!!!!!! Hollywood rain machines need to get in touch with the pennine cloud machines.... now back to those actor types and crew people down stairs... ;) Saturday, July 17, 2004

Well I'm feeling more a lovey every day. I cannot believe how much I am feeling for those I am working with presently. It is so family like, it's a dream of a family and if everything went tits up I will remember how important this stage of my life is and with whom I am sharing this time. Rehearsals, sound tests, visual tests, camera searching, food, fancy dress, cardboard magic, monkey magic (Ergh!), scripts, plans, future, big future... and wonder. The air is so clear tonight. May stretch before sleep and gain some energy for the morrow.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited and scared and hyper and... hungry...i can't believe we're filming on Monday! the rehearsal with nik last night went well and i actually felt like i had constructive suggestions (for once!). I've read the film again and i'm SO excited you wouldnt believe. i might even crack a smile. hehe. I can't wait to get underway with filming now (at least there'll be no more being held upside down by a big scary italian man - hehehehehe only jokin carl!). right well i'm supposed to be working so i better get back to it... see you tonight for rehearsal. Linz xxx ps Marco: why did we start talkin like bitches in da hood??? was amusing tho... Sunday, July 11, 2004
Chomping at the bit is right. While Nik is away, but still in contact and giving support when I text going AAGH!!!! well here I am trying to memorize lines for the directing side, although along with the imagery and tones I don't know if I can focus quite as well as the actors on that task. But it certainly is helpful on set. Hotel, Church, Taxi, locations and vehicle owners, actors are being seen this week (More meetings on Tuesday than I usually have in a week (Ruby Slippers just to keep things solid after Jacq found the places. I'm leaving the Casino up to her for now unless London keeps her a little too long for comfort. Then I'll pay a visit... Been meeting for rehearsals... Lindsay and Buck had another rehearsal while Greg and Lindsay and I talked of the antidote film "The Faery Tale of Rose and Magdalene" which will be shot later this year. The rehearsal was at first sleepy and then on the last run through so many loose ends were tied I was elated. The people involved in this film just keep growing more and more special to me. What other process or Job can do this... ? Saturday, July 10, 2004
It's getting very close to shoot time, and everyone is feeling restless, but ready to go... I'm in Norfolk, about 200 miles away from Marco and the crew. It feels rather odd being here, with so little time to go... but I'm back soon and into the fray. I feel rather out of touch at the moment. Chomping at the bit so too speak. It's very flat here. Just watching the countdown... Thursday, July 01, 2004
