Hi there,...

I just wanted to say something about the festivals. We have had no luck so far getting in however here's an indication of the difficulty of getting a feature lo-lo-budgeter into a festival of any repute. We must have done well at one... the Monaco Independent Film Festival. I was contacted by their organiser and asked to be a judge and I can only say it was on the merits of our film. We were one film away I think from getting in but being asked to be a judge was a great honour especially if you look up who was a judge last year and who will be this year. There were complications and I couldn't confirm and so they had to get someone else. We have been attempting to get in strong festivals and we are up against hundreds and hundreds of films. inde films of million budgets with famous people in them or from exotic places. It's hard not to be dissappointed but that is the unfortunate situation. But our film was super and is super and will cause ripples one day I am sure of it. It is good, it would just help to be famous for it to be given it's true due.

Andso I am just informing you all that we do get reckognised and our film was quoted as looking a quarter of a million to £300,000 budget not bad for a £3000 film.

I have been told that i can send it to Wim Wenders company and the BBC are watching it presently. Slowly it is being watched by fucking cool people.

Now to sleepy world and if you want your three copies that I promised the hub group you give me a shout and I'll get them to you and youcould send them to your idols or friends...

And... Eventually,... Nik we'll get our coffee ;)

Trying to get an agent, or studio, or production company or actor to read my next script is even more difficult than i thought after years of hardening rejections; the closing of ranks has hardened even more than a harder hard thing.

Down hearted somewhat, but even more proud of what we have achieved. If you need a couple of million or half a million as SBC probably should have cost we would have been three years chasing these crazy monkeys for money... but we did it. Try getting someone to read the script and give you half a million and you will realise how very very special what we did was. One day it will be seen as a film to watch, but maybe not yet.

'inside referal' and 'no unsolicited material should apply' comes up - some allow you to send the script and some even read it... those are wicked as they must be so busy... LA seem much friendlier than london,- but unless you are in the family there are few options: you make it yourself for the love of it, as we did, you go monster on it and shock your way through, you masterbate some studio exec thoroughly, you find a film that ticks every box at the box ticking workshop, or you give up, or you set up parallels to the whole business... i kind of like the latter option, because if you are not in the inside inner sanctum, inner-ness of the inner family of show business one might have trouble, and they surely are missing out on any new talent. Incest and in breeding and inheretence causes certain deseases that i think are maybe visible.............

No bitterness, but utter pride, i'm now feeling

Hello,

I am the master of fucking this blog thing up.

Don't you worry your pretty little head Joe, we haven't forgotten you. ;)

Things are still moving with the film. The main news is that we are trying to fix a date for the premiere; and that's harder than we thought - as all being free at the same time seems an impossible task. We'll get it sorted and we'll all have a great night.

We'll announce that one soon.

Yep, we are entering them there festivals, sending another one off tomorrow. Fingers crossed...

Just waiting for that invite now...

BTW which programme are you working on at the moment?

Hello once again,

I hope all is well, although it seems to me that you may well have all fallen of the face of the planet. Strange considering how everybody pulled together so much in order to get this film made. Still as Marco mentioned with such a small post production team the energy must have been focused in on a few for a long time now.

Anyway, it appears the rumours are true, 'Spoken By Crowds' is finally cut and being entered in film competitions. Woohoo. Does this mean that I can get a copy yet? I will bet you wish you hadn't offered to mail out 10 copies to people of each of our choosing. Don't worry I won't make you do it, but I would still like to be able to see it. It seems you have been able to do the Digibeta transfer without me, my usefullness has come to an end, aw.

Ah well, I hope that people have been watching the credits roll on ITV recently because my name is up there 'in lights'. Damn, it must be cool for you guys because you can say 'I knew him when...'. Well, maybe not just yet. But one day. In the meantime I can hear one of the producers asking for their cup of coffee, so I had better get on with it. D'oh.

Joe
